Returning to Training Emails sent out.
The committee and coaches have been planning our return to training – there is still i’s to dot and t’s to cross. But you have been sent individual emails from the admin email account explaining what session would be available to your player when we start up again. If you could confirm if your player would be returning for those session it would help finalise the plans.
Any question please reply to the email. Bear with me I am away this weekend so it will be Tuesday before I could respond.
Covid 19 Update
Dear members,
Although pools are re-opening, we will not be starting back until at least September.
It will not be the same format of sessions we used to run.
There are many new rules and regulations that we need to review and agree with the pools where we operate. This is a huge amount of work and we need to be sure we can safely operate under the new rules. We just don’t have any answers yet.
As soon as we have more news we will let you know.
Monthly SC Torpedoes Water Polo Subscriptions.
Please check your emails regarding our approach to your Monthly club subscriptions during this time.
All SC Torpedoes Water Polo Sessions cancelled until further notice
Dear parents and players,
We will have all seen the latest guidance issued by the government in response to Covid-19 to limit social interaction. Whilst Swim England are saying at the moment whilst schools are still open they see no reason for clubs to suspend club training session at this stage that left us in a difficult position as to what to do as a club.
The consensus of of the committee was that we should suspend all of our water polo training sessions effective from now.
In fact it was announced this morning that Ipswich Council are closing Crown Pools from today.
I will email out to all over the coming weeks when we decide it is sensible to resume.
We appreciate your patience at this time and mean time check out facebook page/website for updates.
Update from Swim England this evening “Having further reviewed the guidance, it is Swim England’s interpretation that club activity falls into the ‘public gathering’ category and therefore it is strongly advising clubs to consider cancelling or postponing activity – including events”
